Welcome to the Old Verulamian Association

Who are we?

The Old Verulamian Association (OVA) had its origins forty-five years ago at a dinner to mark the retirement of the first School Secretary - Miss Eagle. Afterwards a small group of Old Boys, led by David Lucas, held a meeting and decided to start an Old Boys’ Association. The Association produces newsletters with accounts of School Activities, Present pupils, Letters to the Editor, Articles of general interest & News of Old Boys. These are mailed to members. The OVA also promotes an annual reunion dinner. This is a very popular event, with over 150 normally attending. Recent speakers include Lord Parkinson and Lord MacNally.

There is an informal gathering at lunch-time on the last Tuesday of each month at the ‘John Bunyan’, Coleman Green. You are most welcome to call in. Membership is open to past pupils; present & past members of staff of St. Albans Modern School; St Albans County Grammar School; Verulam School.

You may be interested to visit the school's website which is separate, as is the website of the OV Rugby Club, and to read the message board entries.
